OFFICIAL RULES
The registration in the Competition implies the acceptance of the official rules and any change made by the organization, in special circumstances.
The Competition is open to musicians of all nationalities.
Stages of the competition
The IX International Saxophone Competition “Vitor Santos” takes place in 2 rounds for all categories:

Program
One piece chosen by the participant (solo, with electronics, with “play along” or with piano).
One piece chosen by the participant, different from the Elimination round (solo, with electronics, with “play along” or with piano).
One piece chosen by the participant (solo, with electronics or with piano).
One piece chosen by the participant, different from the Elimination round (solo, with electronics or with piano).
Procedure
The registration must be submitted using the registration form, available on the festival's official website (www.fispalmela.com), until June 15, 2023
For the Elimination round participants should send a video recording to fisp.concurso@gmail.com as a YouTube link (unlisted video) and through a file upload platform (such as We Transfer, Drive, Dropbox, etc.) until June 15 of 2023.
After Jury evaluation, 3 participants of each category will be qualified for the Final round, to be announced at June 25 of 2023.
Finalists will have to present themselves, in person, on the 10th of July at Cine-teatro S. João in Palmela.
Participation Video
The participation video for the Elimination round will have to be recorded on a single shot, without cuts or any kind of editing, either video or sound.
The video will have to start with the password: “Vítor Santos”.
Edited videos with any kind of sound effects or filters will not be considered valid.
The participation video can be recorded with a mobile phone or with professional equipment (the quality of the recording will not be considered for evaluation purposes).

Publishing
All participant videos will be published on the official channels of FISP and Adolphesax.com until the 14th of July 2023.

The participation in the competition has a fee registration*:

The head of the Jury has veto power.
Assessment methodology
The Jury’s decisions are unquestionable.
The organization can nominate new members of the Jury if necessary.
Announcement of winners
The winners of the IX International Saxophone Competition “Vitor Santos” will be announced at the Winner Gala, which will take place on July 10, 2023, at 9:30 pm, at Cine-teatro São João in Palmela (live transmission to the FISP and Adolphesax.com channels).
Awards
All entrants will receive a certificate of participation and a written comment from each judge.

Image rights
FISP reserves the right to transmit some or all of the tests in the competition for radio or television, as well as to use these recordings for promotional purposes of FISP, without prior authorization.
The festival offers an accompanying pianist for the final round, which must be required on registration form.
Participants must have with them the original scores.
Disqualification
In any situation where there is non-compliance with this regulation or where the information submitted on the registration form is not verified, participants will be disqualified and there will be no refund of the registration fee.
Any omission in this regulation will be decided by the FISP organization.
